Regional Workshop on Astronomy , November 9 – 13, 2009

The aims of this event can be summarised as:
1)    Introducing astronomy topics to inspire students and lecturers to pursue astronomy 
studies and research.
2)    Educating teachers and students about how to do outreach
3)    Networking locally and regionally regarding outreach
4)    Networking locally and regionally on a university research level
5)    Setting up local committees to be responsible for astronomy activities into the 
future

Delegates will be coming from Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda.
We hope that this type of event covering both education and outreach activities will 
serve as a model for future regional visits for the development of astronomy in Africa.
