AstroMundus is a newly established international Master Course in Astronomy
and Astrophysics that has been selected by the European Commission as an
Erasmus Mundus Masters Course within the second edition of the Erasmus Mundus
programme. The Master course is jointly offered by


--the Institute of Astro- and Particle Physics, University of Innsbruck,
--the Department of Astronomy, University of Padova,
--the Astrophysics section of the Department of Physics, University of
Rome "Tor Vergata",
--the Institute for Astrophysics, Department of Astronomy, University
of Goettingen
--the Department of Astronomy, Faculty of Mathematics, University of
Belgrade


Applications are now solicited for the Master course starting in September
2010.

*Deadlines:*
*December 31st 2009* for Third Country students
(i.e. from countries that are not members of the
European Union and associated countries)
*April 30th 2010* for European students

The programme has a duration of 2 years (120 ECTS credits), is developed
within
a consortium of 5 Universities in 4 different countries (Austria, Italy,
Germany,
and Serbia), and is conducted in the English Language.
The wide variety of expertise covered by our international partnership
insures
an excellent educational level in all branches of Astrophysics.

We invite applications from top-ranked students that either hold or are
expected to obtain before August 2010 a Bachelor's Degree (or an equivalent
certified period of studies of at least 3 years, corresponding to 180 credits
in the European Credit Transfer System) in Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics,
Mathematics or closely related fields.
A certified good knowledge of the English language is required.

The selected students will carry out their studies in at least 2 and up to
4 of the
AstroMundus Consortium Universities and will be finally awarded a Joint
Master Degree,
complemented with a Diploma Supplement, by all consortium Universities
they visited
during their studies.

Several Erasmus Mundus scholarships will be made available by the European
Commission
to both non-European and European students.
The selection of students is primarily based on excellence.
